Collision

Collision deals with the subtle breathless moments just before two bodies collide in space. In the infinite seconds before collision takes place there is a recognition of something that escapes the logic that each body has of itself, breaking any previous safety. The result is the loss of stability, the desire to crash violently in the midst of vertigo. Collision moves through the apocaliptical reality constructed by two beings in their own intangibility. Jorneying through desolated streets and empty parking lots, unreachable they create fantasies of love, arriving no closer to comprehending their own desires. Reality is a thin fabric ready to be shredded by a blind step toward the core our ghosts, alone, frail before the horror – in the exploration of our own bodies, in the repetition of a gesture, endless, and in the moment where the body collides against itself.

Just prior to collision the two bodies must feel each other’s gravitational attraction regardless of the forces that have caused their movement up until that point. They are made of mass and are thus bound to each other by gravity. They might even imperceptbly accelerate at the very end.

In space an object is not likely to feel…to be aware of… the kinetic energy it carries…there is no air nor ether to cause friction and thus nothing to give a sense of speed. there is neither a reliable reference point to visuallly provide clues as to how fast it is moving.

at the immediate moment of contact is when the object realizes its momentum….its energy.

Excellent! Looking forward to more of this.
